As per MThomas suggestion:
Signal from the HDMI port of Canon DSLRs is brighter by 10 IRE at the white point, but is accurate at the black point.
So it should be about 5 IRE too bright around 50 IRE.
Thank god we are using true color/detail evaluation for exposure evaluation.
